The Holy Grail, Part II: Inside the One-Stop Shop

Does the fully integrated transaction actually work? A year in the field with Zillow and Rocket

Everyone in the industry talks about owning the whole transaction: search, brokerage, mortgage and title, stitched together under one roof. Zillow and Rocket are spending billions to build it. Almost nobody has gone and checked whether it works.

Following up on last year's session, Mike DelPrete returns with the results of a year of field work rather than secondary research, including a day walking the floors at Rocket's Detroit headquarters and talking to the leaders building the model, with further site visits before October.

On stage, he'll share what he found: where the one-stop shop holds up, where it breaks down, and whether the Holy Grail is real or a myth. And because every transaction the integrated model captures is one fewer for everyone else, he'll set out who is likely to end up on the losing end.
